Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, has expanded its retail empire by launching the FMCG brand Independence across India. Initially piloted in Gujarat, the brand received positive consumer response, prompting a full-scale national rollout. The product range includes staples, packaged foods, and personal care items.
Speaking at the launch, Isha Ambani, executive director of Reliance Retail Ventures, said, “Our mission is to offer high-quality, affordable products made in India for every Indian.” The company also plans to onboard thousands of small retailers and Kirana stores as partners in this supply chain.
With this move, Reliance is set to challenge the dominance of established players and disrupt the pricing and distribution models in the FMCG industry.
